CPC settles over 100 cases in north-west

The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) has resolved about 100 cases in the north-western region through mediation, the Assistant chief, surveillance and enforcement department of the CPC’s north-west office, Mr, Julius Haruna has said.

Speaking at the celebration of this year’s World Consumer Rights’ Day yesterday in Katsina, Haruna said over 100 complaints were received last year of which 97 were resolved through mediation by the CPC.
“Two of the cases involved N7.4m and N3.8m respectively. Other cases are on different issues and the council is doing its best to resolve them amicably,” he said.
The Zonal Coordinator of the council, Alhaji Lawal D Maradun reiterated the council’s commitments towards protecting the rights of consumers.
Maradun has called on the consumers to report their cases to the council, saying that the CPC was established to protect their rights.
