ARRANGEMENTS are in top gear toward the 4th edition of Durbin Kano Amateur Open Golf Championship scheduled to hold on July 18 to 19 at the Kano Club Golf Section.
Over 150 golfers across the country are expected to compete on various categories in the two-day tournament.
The golf’s section public relations officer, Alhaji Lawan Abdullahi, golfers from across the country are to vie for various trophies and prizes in different categories, veterans and ladies.
Alhaji Abdullahi said that all necessary measures have been taken care of toward a successful and hitch-free championship and called on the participants to give the organisers maximum support and cooperation for the success of the championship.
He then commended the competition’s sponsor, Alhaji Muhammad Koguna for his tireless efforts for the overall development of the game within and outside the state.
However, he called on other wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to come to the aid of the game by sponsoring competitions not only for the development of the game but to keep the teeming youth off from social vices.
