Relief has come the way of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, as four of its first team players who were down with injuries are back to the team’s fold in readiness for tomorrow’s week 20 home tie against ABS of Ilorin.
The quartet of first choice goaltender John Lawrence, strike force Henry Akile, midfield jewel Abutu Jonah and defence marshal Ezekiel Bassey, who were all sidelined by injuries have returned to training and are expected to battle ABS in tomorrow’s duel at the Emmanuel Akume Atongo Stadium in Katsina Ala.The club’s Vice Chairman, who doubles as team Technical Adviser told Trustsports in a telephone chat yesterday that he is now relaxed and ready for the battle of the second round as the club’s injury worries have reduced with the return of the quartet.
“I can confirm to you that our worries over the injuries in the team have lessen now with then return to training of four of our first team players who were sidelined before the end of the first stanza. Our first choice goalkeeper John Lawrence was down, so also was Henry Akile, Abutu Jonah and Ezekiel Bassey, but all of them back and ready to fight for shirts in the remaining part of the season”, Iorfa stated.
The former Abiola Babes and BCC Lions goal poacher also said Lobi is not leaving any stone unturned to pay back ABS, their opponents in tomorrow’s second round opener in Katsina Ala.
“Tomorrow is payback time to ABS and I am sure of the maximum points because we have prepared very well for this match”, Iorfa concluded.
