Dosu, Nwosu say future is bright for Eaglets

Former Super Eagles internationals, Dosu Joseph and Henry Nwosu are optimistic that the Golden Eaglets will spring surprises in the on going FIFA U-17 championship as they say Nigerians should not write off their team.
After watching Eaglets qualify for the round of 16 after beating Argentina 2-1 in Bauchi, the former Eagles goalkeeper and welfare office of the 2003 Eaglets Dosu said nobody can make him change his position that the present squad has what it takes to win the championship.
Dosu maintained that in football, it is hard to come by a perfect team because a team is made up of human beings and since there is no perfection in human beings, nobody should expect the Eaglets to be perfect in their performance.
He noted that the Eaglets are a bunch of talented youngsters who need the support of Nigerians to win the championship.
“Eaglets are a talented side with fighting spirit. I am impressed with what I have seen so far. No matter what anyone feels about the team, I can confidently say I am impressed”.
He, therefore condemned the attitude of the fans who booed and walked out on the Eaglets in their opening match against Germany.
Dosu said that action was enough to disorganize the lads but the moment they were able to compose themselves to get that draw, he concluded the team is not as bad as many are thinking.
Dosu however advised the Eaglets not to play to the gallery as he said playing as a team would give them the results they need to win the championship.
“My advice is that they must not play to the gallery. They must play for one another because football is a team sport. If they play together, they would not have any problem winning their matches”.
On his part, former Green Eagles captain Nwosu said all at the team needs to win the championship is to consolidate on its recent performances.
He said even as they did not play satisfactorily against Germany in the opening match, the Eaglets were able to recover in subsequent matches which means they have something to offer.
“I think the team can do well in the championship. I thank God that they were able to come back from three goals down in their match against Germany. They boys did their best to salvage the bad situation they found themselves in.
