The settlement also shot to the limelight when former US President Bill Clinton visited the settlement a little over a decade ago. However, the centre’s numerous potentials remain untapped.

Okada/Keke riders re-brand at Abuja operators’ festival

The Federal Capital Territory on Monday, April 15 witnessed a festival with a different twist. The Abuja Okada/Keke festival was the first of its kind for motorcycle and tricycle operators in Abuja. The usual trend is that, when motorcycle operators gather at a spot anywhere in Nigeria, it is assumed that there was probably an accident or some scuffles, but this one is different. They are only celebrating their means of livelihood, and probably sending a symbolic statement to the FCt that despite the ban on Okada life for them still goes on.

Without the usual retinue of security convoy attached to his office, Kaduna State Governor Muhktar Ramalan Yero, last Sunday, took some aspiring artists and youths in the state by surprise when he drove himself to the Hassan Usman Katsina Park, popularly called Gamji Gate, and joined them on the dancing floor.
