Speaking for their boss and theatrically playing his script, two criminals recently threatened Nigeria with war if President Jonathan, by their proclamation, is not returned for another term in the 2015 elections; whether he wins or loses. It was President Jonathan’s Special Adviser on Niger Delta who first issued threats of violence while on a visit to the United States of America should their kinsman, Jonathan, loses re-election in 2015; meaning that President Jonathan’s tenure must extend beyond 2015 by all means and at all cost.

Many people have today become slaves to their own wealth instead of the wealth becoming their slaves; due possibly to their failure to understand God’s purpose of creation. Such people also fail to grasp latent reality, which is the inevitable end of life at a time most people never expected. No matter the stack of our wealth, not more than five yards of white cloth that still costs one hundred naira only per yard shall be the sole escort of the individual in to the grave. No more, no less. Even in cultures where the dead is buried along with money, the fact that riches fall short of bringing the wealthy back to life is enough counsel for the wise. The provisions for this necessary journey would be man’s acts of worship.

With all the strides in medicine, philosophy, mathematics, botany and other disciplines about twelve centuries ago, the Muslim world is regrettably not where it should be in the race of civilizations. Today, the Muslim world looks more like a civilization alienated from its own heritage; looking up to other cultures or civilizations including those whose main gateway to Greek science and philosophy was the translation works of Arab scholars.
