Today is the 2nd of April, 2011 when Nigerians are yet making a date with history. Another round of national elections is beginning today with elections into the National Assembly. The stakes are definitely very high. Nigerians are desirous of credible elections. The world is watching to see if this time around Nigerians can measure up to the level of modern civilization by doing what war torn countries in the sub regions have done very successfully in the last few years, but which the giant of Africa has progressively gotten in error in the last two elections in 2003 and 2007.

I know that it is a matter of political strategy at a crucial time that the old man was either told or forced to shut his mouth. Reason being that as the elections appear, the seeming senile position and utterances that were coming out of the mouth of this very old man could earn Goodluck Jonathan some tremendous bad luck.

I thought Nigerians could invest some hope on the preparations and sincerity of opposition parties, especially the major ones, to see them through this very boring and colourless PDP rule that the nation has faced in the last twelve years or so.
