    Music? Mostly an attitude statement

It’s mostly a collection of belligerent “sounds,” incorporating some psychologically disturbed rhythmic talk-“poetry” but not much else. There must be a lot of pain and anger in a mindset that produces something like this (Metal-Heavy Metal stuff, as well). Time will tell, I guess.

absolutely perfect. this is my favorite album period. beautiful instrumentals influenced by jazz, funk, and soul with expert lyricism and messaging. not a single misplaced feature. not a single mediocre track. thundercat demolishes the bass. benchmark album in hip hop

    Where to start?

I think the best play to start is the themes of this album altogether, first I would like to say Kendrick fleshed all the themes in every single song so well that it is impossible to listen to one of the songs on this piece and not pull something relatable or important out of the song that he was conveying to you. Next maybe the dong structure and lyricism, it is masterful I have listened to songs on this album and picked up something new Kendrick has done in any song or just by the features, the poetry and the lyrics really convey and press the stories onto you so you may listen and understand the issues that are handled here. so I’ve been hearing a lot about the title of this album and it is a very strange one at first if you don’t understand it the title is a call back to Tupac’s “the Rose that grew from the concrete”. The title conveys all you need to know about the album and it’s messages before hearing and exploring everything. The end was beautiful it was just built up through layers of poetry little by little in the songs and in the finale Kendrick is speaking to someone in a interview and the interviewee is none other than tupac and it is a old video of a interview and Kendrick asks him questions in struggles and Tupac’s own messages and how can he apply them professionally I thought it was amazing. Favorite songs: I, U, Alright, the blacker the berry and the rest but those are highlighted tracks.
